Enrolment Fees and Expenses

Enrolment fees are subject to change from year to year. See fees below and refer to the current program fees for Graduate Programs – Masters.

The program is full time held over three terms: Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer.

Canadian/Permanent Residence Status $2,102.40 per term
International Status $5,698.74 per term

Please note that additional expenses of approximately $4,000 will be incurred to cover participation in the International Symposium in India, and other costs may apply to field placements..

Scholarships

McMaster University awards a number of competitive entrance scholarships. We strongly encourage applicants to apply for external funding, where eligible.

A few funding opportunities are outlined below:

  • Thesis students can apply for CIHR funding through Canada Graduate scholarships. The deadline to apply for CIHR is December 1st, at which point you will select the programs & schools you will be applying to.
  • All eligible incoming domestic students are considered for a limited number of Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS) valued at $15,000 each. Any offer of financial support will be identified in the letter of offer if accepted into the program.
  • International students can refer to the Future International Students website and the School of Graduate Studies scholarship and international webpages for more information.
  • For self-identifying Indigenous students, more information about Indigenous scholarships can be found here.
  • Funding may be available to support a limited number of student exchanges. Application details will be provided to the incoming students in the fall.
