Priscilla Reddy

Global Health Advisory Board member

Priscilla Reddy is Director of the Medical Research Council’s Health Promotion Research and Development Unit of South Africa. She was inducted into the Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame in an awards ceremony held in conjunction with the Forum of University Nursing Deans in South Africa (FUNDISA).
Published widely in international journals, her research has covered a range of topics, from the determinants of behaviour of young people to the health education behaviour of nurses in primary health care settings.
Dr. Reddy has served on internationally significant committees, including the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Science. The committee was responsible for making recommendations to the US Congress.
She has also contributed to several health policies and programmes in South Africa, including tobacco control legislation.
