Josipa Petrunic

Josipa G. Petrunic teaches the Introduction to Globalization course in Social Sciences, which MSc Global Health students take in the fall term. Petrunic is Executive Director & CEO of the Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC), where she is leading the formulation of several large-scale transportation technology trials. She has also been lead researcher in electric vehicle policy studies at McMaster.

Petrunic is currently completing the Ontario Electric Vehicle Technology Roadmap funded by a federal Automotive Partnership Canada (APC) grant. Previously, she worked as a senior research fellow at University College London (UCL), focusing on Science and Technology Studies and the history of mathematics and engineering. Petrunic completed her PhD in the History of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh as a Commonwealth Scholar, after gaining a Master’s of Science in Science and Technology Studies (STS), also as a Commonwealth Scholar.

She also holds a Master’s of Science in Political Philosophy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Journalism from Carleton University. In addition to her role at McMaster, Petrunic lectures in interdisciplinary research methods for the Master of Arts in Integrated Studies program at Athabasca University.
