NEW VIDEO: Dutch Royalty Visit Campus
Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and her husband Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven visited McMaster in May.
As honorary chair of the MSc Global Health program’s international advisory board, Princess Margriet met with some of the program’s students before opening a symposium about antimicrobial resistance – an issue that has been identified by the World Health Organization (WHO) and others as an increasingly serious threat to global public health that requires urgent action.
The couple, who were in the country to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, also attended a ceremonial signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between McMaster and Vrije University (VU) of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Watch the video of the visit below, and hear from other members of the advisory board as well as faculty and alumni from the Global Health program.
