McMaster Celebrates CBIE Panorama Award for Outstanding International Education Program
Last night, McMaster University’s Master of Science in Global Health program received the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) Panorama Award for Outstanding International Education Program, in the Academic category. The 2015 CBIE Excellence Awards showcased the innovators, leaders, connectors and emerging stars in our field.
Dr. Andrea Baumann, Director of the MSc Global Health program, was delighted to receive the award. “I want to thank all the faculty, staff and students involved in this truly innovative program. We are now six institutions working together, representing a best practice model of international collaboration.”
A joint offering with Maastricht University in the Netherlands, the MSc Global Health program launched in 2010 to address emerging challenges in globalization and health and prepare future professionals for careers in a globalized world. Since then, enrolment has tripled, with partnerships expanding to include universities in India (Manipal University), Norway (University College of Southeast Norway), Thailand (Thammasat University) and Colombia (Universidad del Rosario).
McMaster was recognized at CBIE’s 49th Annual Conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
