Global Health Speaker Series Presents: Anne Le Guellec, Consul General of the Netherlands
The Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Anne Le Guellec, will visit McMaster University on January 15, 2018 as part of the Global Health Speaker Series, hosted by the Global Health Office.
Addressing the global health community, Le Guellec will talk about her position with the consular office in Ontario and her associated responsibilities. She will also meet with students in the MSc Global Health program at McMaster, and those on exchange from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
Le Guellec was appointed to her current role in August 2017. A Dutch and French national, she joined the Dutch public service in 1998. She is a trained lawyer, with degrees in European law from Université Francois Rabelais in France, and Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Le Guellec has held various positions at the interface of national and international competition law and consumer affairs. At the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa), she was Counselor to the Board, before heading up the Legal Department of the Netherlands Consumer Authority.
In her most recent position as Deputy Director at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Market (ACM), she led several high-profile cases affecting consumer and private-sector interests.
