Building Capacity in India and the Middle East
In today’s inter-connected world, health problems transcend boundaries. The Global Health Office at McMaster works with educational institutions around the world to strengthen capacity in health care research, education, and delivery at an international scale.
Below are some current initiatives.
In India, King George Medical University (KGMU) and the GHO drafted a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a collaborative Professional Competencies program. The McMaster Department of Medicine will be hosting a workshop in the spring of 2015. Also in India, the McMaster Department of Medicine collaborated with Dehradun Sri Guru Ram Rai Medical College (SGRRMC) to provide an interdisciplinary workshop for global health and medical and health science students in India during summer 2015.
The GHO has historically been involved in several initiatives in the Middle East, and we are currently completing an MOU and memorandum of agreement with King Saud University (KSU). The agreement relates to the enrollment of KSU medical graduates in the Health Research Methodology program within the McMaster Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
